Default Isolating Ground on Music Input Jack

Looking for some ideas....

I will installing a music jack which will be connected to my PS8000B audio panel.

If a music jack is installed PS Engineering highly recommends that you isolate the jack from the airframe ground by using by using an insulated mounting plate.

I would like to install the jack on the upper gear leg tower on my -8.

Are there any commercially available jacks or components that will address this?

Anyone solve this problem yet?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or gotchas.

You want part 161-7300 from Mouser. It's a panel mount, plastic bodied jack. Here's a link: http://www.mouser.com/search/Product...key161-7300-EX

I originally found it from Checkoway's site.

I originally forgot to isolate the jack, and got a nasty whine....so definitely you want to do this!

I couldn't find a plastic jack that I wanted when I wanted it, but found that the metal-bodied jack I had fit perfectly into one of Van's hard plastic grommets. With a touch of glue, I had a nicely isolated plastic jack that clicked right into the hole....

Frank,

I don't have a 340 install manual or pin-out diagram, but look for the "Aux Music In" feed (or something named like that...), and wire up a mini-jack to that. Get yourself a cord to go from the iPod to the mini-jack, and voil?! Music into your audio panel.

Assuming, of course, that the 340 supports an Aux audio input....
