Default Garmin GAP 26 Control box

Okay, probably a dumb question, but I have learned to ask dumb questions.
There is a blue wire coming from the control box on my GAP 26 Garmin heated pitot tube. The instructions call out that this wire can be connected to any available discrete input. What are they talking about? Where am I to run this wire?

If the discrete output (bare blue wire) from the control box is connected to one

The blue wire will be terminated to either a GEA 24 or GAD 27 discrete input. There are a few different options for how to program that input, which are outlined in this post.

Thanks,

Justin
