Default Brake Mount Wear

The U-403-PC is the little weldment that bolts to the axle of most of the tapered gear RV's. The brake caliper and wheel pant bracket mount to it.

I was doing the wheels/brakes/tires/bearings thing today and noticed a little rotational play between the axles and the U-403's. In both cases, the rotation was minor, but enough I noticed it. The through-bolt didn't move - only the U-403's, which had slightly oblong holes.

So the airplane is up on blocks while I await new U-403's from Van's. ~$26 ea plus shipping.

If they aren't on your condition inspection list, it would be a good idea to add 'em.
