Default Kohler (aka Essex) Primer fault?

I have an Essex primer on a Supercub. Last week it worked normally, this week it has zero suction. Anyone know what the normal fault mode is? I need a new 'O' ring?

Thanks.

Default Balls

Steve,

There are some small ball bearings, held in place by weak springs, that form the valves. You may have a piece of crud under one of the balls? If you have to open it up then you will almost certainly need need to replace any o rings. If you do dismantle it, the springs can shoot the balls a surprising distance, and the balls are small and difficult to find (don't ask me how I know).

Pete

Small particles were always messing up my Kohler primer on my Champ. Even after I flushed the tank it still would stop up. That little tiny hole in the intake manifold would stop up and keep it from working too.

Pete/Jim - thanks for the input. Today without me doing any more than a hard stare, its working just fine. For now I think I will leave it alone.

Thanks again

Could you come over to my shop for a while. I have several things that could use your HARD STARE.
