Default Vans Stall Warning System Install Issues

Installing Vans system in an older (2003 era) -7 wing kit. Not bad until fitting the VA-195 keeper plate (the nose rib). Pulled the template tight to get the best alignment, but the keeper plate still has terrible alignment/fit. It's clecoed in there now, but I'm debating ordering a rib and cutting it down for a better fit.

Don't know what I could have done wrong - wondering if anyone else has had similar issues. I'm guessing it may not be just a -7 issue (it's probably just a -John issue!)

Thanks.
