I can't answer that, although I have found many RVs have no drop at 1700 RPM. I get a drop of 30 or 40 but the airbox has cracked several times. Glad to hear that Randy is working on that.

I'm about 550 hrs and no problems at all with the airbox (carb). I added some doublers to the mounting plate when I built it to prevent cracks and I guess they are working . I have had no problem with the heat door either (I've never used carb heat except the occasional pull on the lever to see if it still operates). I check these items whenever I pull the cowl off (which is pretty often) and so far so good.

Larry,

Didn't mean to imply that Randy had actually made this fix to your airbox yet - when I was over there the other day, he basically used your engine as a training aid to show me how his idea could work. If my blankety airbox keeps breaking, I may be the first one to actually try it.

Looks like he's doing some great work - when he's done I think you're going to have the strongest RV on the planet.

Good to know not everyone is having issues with these airboxes. There's hope.
