Mapbox kit

Hi all,

I am installing the Vans mapbox kit in a 7A slider .... it seems that the door cannot cover all of the opening when closed - some of the piano hinge will be visible at the bottom of the door - is this how it is designed ?
(as it is difficult to see from the plans or catalogue photos )

I have looked through various different websites and other than one site, (where a different hinge designed as a hidden oil door hinge http://justrvparts.com/ ) was used I have not seen any photos of the finished article as designed by Vans.

The door must sit a bit high due to the hinge geometry. If not, the bottom will hit the panel face as soon as it starts opening. Adjust the location low enough to place the door in a level open position when it meets the panel. This will be a compromise that gives full opening of the door and the least amount of hinge visible.

A different hinge type would be needed to achieve a fully covered hinge line.
