Default Dynon or Garmin custom georeferenced maps

Hi,

I am coming very close to the decision making process of which efis system to use.
I found MGL avionics being very open and customizable friendly. However, the resolution of the MGL screens is horrible compared to the Dynon and Garming counterparts.
So I was wondering if any of you have experience or managed to load a custom map (being background of vfr approach plate) into your Dynon or Garmin that you created yourself.
I know you can purchase pocketfms and such subscriptions and easily add that in the system but I'm more interested to know if I can add my own raster mapping into it.
