Default $500 or so for a GPS with weather?

Could this be the answer to our dreams?

Well, Garmin can't hold a monopoly forever!

That thing looks pretty neat, but I wonder if it can display more than the Nexrad. I probably use the METAR data as much (or more!) than I use the Nexrad on my 396. This weekend's trip was a good example - I had IFR conditions on the way to Fort Worth, and MVFR on the way back, but there was never any precip to show....just low ceilings and visibilities, so I was constantly checking to see what was going on.

But if they can sell that for $500, and they have to double the price to add the rest of the weather data, they'll still be half the price of a 396.....

Agreed - at todays street prices, this unit is worth it simply for the WX alone.

Default Lowrance

I'm looking forward to Lowrance's next offering. They are reportedly going to be adding Satellite Weather capability soon. I really like the size of the screen on their 2000C, and know that even with weather, it will probably cost half of a Garmin unit.
