Default Dynon D3 PIREP...

I'm on the fence about buying a Dynon D3 for my RV7A and would love to hear any PIREPS on it. I borrowed a friend's D2 and was disappointed in the brightness of the screen. I found it very hard to see in bright sun. I've read that the D3 is 2 times brighter, but is it still hard to read. Please tell me your thoughts on if I should get one.

Thanks,

Jim

I have a D3 and a G5.
They both are not very bright when viewed at an angle such as looking from the opposite side of the cockpit. When viewing from in front of the instrument it is plenty bright.
I don't use the synthetic vision display as up around 10k it seems mostly blue and thus harder to interpret at a glance.
I like the gps altitude as a backup instrument.
