Default Slick retard mags - cam wear

My hangar neighbor has a -10, with Slick mags, one of which has retard points and a SlickStart. He was having a harder and harder time starting, so he/we looked into it. We noted that the Slickstart sparks were on for a very short time (1 or 2 deg max of crankshaft rotation). He sent the mag back to the shop that did the IRAN overhaul just 100 hours ago. They reported back that the 100 hour old cam was badly worn.
The shop is a very reputable one, and at this point, I don't know if the fault lies with the shop, or with Slick/Champion parts or instructions, so I won't name the shop. But if you have recently overhauled Slicks with retard points, you should probably check your dwell time.
