Question RV-8 to a RV-7 empennage?

I have noticed alot of the parts in my -8 tail kit are labels as -7 parts, for example, VS707.

In fact, many of the schematic drawings are labeled both -7 and -8. Only the rudder and HS seem to be -8 specific.

Which begs the question. If someone had an -8 tail kit, how hard would it be to turn it into an empennage kit for a -7, just for the sake of argument?

Well, like you said the HS stab is different. I understand that is because the angle of the tailcone is different as it comes down. The rudder on the -7 was originally the -8 style, then the later kits like mine have the -9 rudder. OTher than that, they are similer. I can't say for sure they are the same.
