Default EM-1

Didn't find anything about this headset on previous threads... it's a relatively new headset I think. The "Headsets Inc." EM1.

http://www.headsetsinc.com/ (towards the bottom of htis page)
http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/avpages/em1.php

They say they used a "proven PNR headset" and added their own ANR circuitry. It looks like they used a Dave Clark headset?? Has anybody here ever used this headset?

The price is nice, and it doesn't look as ridiculous as those huge Lightspeed ones. I'm trying to decide between this, and the alternative of buying a pair of DC13.4s and installing the Headsets Inc ANR module myself. Going the DC+ANR module route would be a little more expensive than buying the EM-1.

Another option is the Dave Clark H10-13X ANR set. More expensive than the previous two options, but cheaper than a Bose. I've read bad things about the X11, wondering if the H10-13X are better...

Any suggestions?

I converted a set (actually 2 sets) of DCs with the Headset Inc. kits.

Worked well. I would suggest that if you go that direction, at least get the battery box with auto shutoff, or even better is to use plane power, and eliminate the battery box.

There has been at least one prior thread on this, try searching for it.

Yeah, I think this is the best option. My only hesitation is that installing the ANR units voids the Dave Clark 5 year warranty. I guess i should just carefully test the DC before installing the ANR.
