Default Take a flight, remind yourself why

Building is a long, tedious, expensive process and lots of times you're ready to chuck the whole **** thing, but today I went flying with Mel Jordan in his RV6A. Not only is the plane drop dead beautiful, but the performance is off the chart. We accelerated at 1750 fpm and shot up to 6500 msl in no time.

Here I am peddling a 150, trying for 100fpm with both rubberbands, with 6500 msl only a figment of my demented imagination.

Every so often (during the building process) beg, borrow or steal a ride in one of these airplanes so it reminds you of what's to come. I guess they call it the RV grin but it's been two hours since we landed and I still can't get rid of the %$#% eating grin on my face.

Onward.... If we don't screw up the canopy, should be a month or so till that grin is a permanent expression on my wrinkled old face.
