Default Greg is great

I went out and did the basic aerobatics course before I got my RV. It was simply outstanding. Some of the best instruction and hospitality I have received, period. I can say that I have integrated a lot of what I learned into my own flying, and- more importantly- into my instruction. Greg's lecture and demonstration about spins, or the lack thereof, from slips as opposed to spins from skids has become standard fare in my flight reviews. One of those experiences in life that was worth every penny.

Fess up now. You and Tanya don't fly tailwheel every day. Did the pond make you nervous?

(Backstory...Some of Greg's runway is across the top of the dam which forms the pond, and yes, I've seen a pilot lose control and get wet.)

Truth is I didn't know I was supposed to be nervous about the pond. We do other operations whereby we're quite used to having full commitment to "my side of the runway" and any deviation could have dire consequences.

Plus, I guess my brain was probably still on fire for most landings such that I don't remember most of them. Except for the one I embarrassed myself with . Good times!

I hear Tanya did pretty well in the cockpit too, but Greg would say nothing more than "You guys are pretty much neck and neck." We leaned on him a little bit for who was the better pilot, but he wasn't budging .
