Fuel Sender help

Was doing my fuel quantity calibrations for the g3x and was getting odd readings... figured out that the fuel sender lead wires are toast.

So I tried to remove the bolt from the fuel sender (bolt holding the wire) which is giving me trouble and it continued to twist but wasn?t unscrewing.... any help would be greatly appreciated as I don?t know why it would be doing this.
