Default IO540

Anyone know about a filter on the block other than our normal one we screw on and off during routine oil changes?

that's a pretty vague question. What kind: Oil, air, fuel, etc. I know there is an oil screen in the sump.

Default Finger screen

Yes, there is a finger screen on the oil pan that should be checked each oil change. It looks like a pipe plug along the bottom edge of the oil pan. On my engine it is at the bottom rear edge of the oil pan.

To add a bit , it should have a safety wire on the plug.

Go here, select "Parts Catalog" under "Publication Category", click Apply, then scroll down to find your engine model. Download the catalog, then look at the sump illustration.
