Default FT-60 green wire used?

Bought an EI FT-60 red cube from another builder. While trimming back wires for adding connectors I find a green wire along with the red, black and white. Hmmmm. I can't find what, where this wire is used. All I find are instructions for the other three. Anyone have info or a wire diagram?

Green is usually a ground wire.

I would guess that it connects to the aluminum case and used for a shield ground. It is not needed for anything. The first three you saw are the only ones required. Also possible they had four conductor wire laying around and used it, along with trimming back the green wire so as not to confuse anyone.

I emailed EI asking about the green wire and here is there response:

Hello Carlos,

Thank you for your email. The cable used to manufacturer the FT-60 is a 4 conductor cable. Because the the FT-60 only needs 3 wires we cut the green as close to the cable jacket as possible. The Green wire is not used, just ignore it.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,
David Primmer
