Default Creating a Waypoint on Garmin 796

I would like to create a waypoint on a Garmin 796 using a known Lat/Long position. I can't find it in the manual.

Can it be done, and if so, how?

Cheers!

I'm not 100% sure this is acceptable to you but use Google Maps or Earth, put in your lat/long info. Look to see where that put it, then take your 796, scroll around to point using dead reckoning, zoom, etc and then touch the screen where that point is on the map, hit menu and create a user point.

Not having a 796 or a manual thats what I would do. The other thing is to try to create any user point and see if you can edit the lat/long field to what you have to see if it takes you there.
Just throwing ideas out.
