Default ?

Thanks for looking. I have a question I can't find the answer in Standard Aircraft Handbook. Looking at the AN316-6r there is a "v" looking mark on the flat wrench area. Does the "v" mark orientation matter? I am thinking because I can't find it in "the book", it doesn't matter.
Thank you in advance.

Terry
