Default How to torque AN-fittings?

I read through the various books I have and found the torque values for different AN fittings. However, before I start tightening anything, two questions come to mind:
1) Are they refering to the retaining nut that holds the flared tube to the fitting, or only to the nuts that hold the fittings to the the metal they are penetrating?

2) My torque wrench is a socket wrench. If I am also supposed to torque down the retaining nuts holding the flared tuve (which would require an open wrench) how do I measure the torque?

Default Crow's foot

Use a crow's foot if you must or do it my way by my highly calibrated nervous system...Namely with an open ended wrench till it "feels about right"...
