Default Van's tool box project

Sometime back I built, (along with my assistant), a Van's tool box project in order to "warm up" our riveting skills. I like it so much that I ordered a new one for my brother. I want do do it "high tech", with those mini-gas-charged thingies like on the rear hatch of cars (the small version) to open and shut the lid. Can someone give me a lead of where to obtain these? Thank you.
