Default UMA 1 1/4" flap position indicator with POS12

Good Morning,

did anybody bring the UMA flap indicator to work with a POS12 pot? I'm havin real trouble to get the reading correct and consistent from 0° to 40° flap position.
I measured the ray allen pot and it is perfectly linear from 0 - 5KOhm, so that's not the reason. The indicator has an small screw on it where you can adjust the gain of the gauge, but it is basically impossible to adjust it correctly (the needle jumps like crazy with the smallest movements on the screw).
Now UMA tech Support tells me that the indicator is maybe to sensitive for the POS12 pot. UMA has an dedicated transducer but i don't want to use it and they told me in first place that the gauge should work with any pot.
So does anybody have that combination?

Thank you
Kay
