I guess I will buy some polyfoam (Styrofoam) from Spruce to fill the gap behind the spar, which has a depth of approx. 3''. This material is 2 lbs./Cu. Ft. (32 Kg./m3) while Confor Foam is 3 times heavier (96 Kg./m3). This will help me on weight saving.
My only concern is if its stiffness would be equal or better than the blue CF. I don't want to "build" the seat with a softer material at the base. I asked Spruce for advice on this.
