Default e-mags

How much advantage in using two e-mags?

Try using the search feature.

BTW, the company is Emag, the ignition is P-mag.

One will reduce your fuel burn by ~1 GPH and two will reduce it by ~1.5 GPH. at the same power settings and speed in cruise. If all your flying is in the pattern doing takeoffs and landings, I doubt you will see any difference, other than easier starting.

Also, they weigh much less than magnetos, the plugs are much cheaper, no 500hr overhaul, and timing is a cinch. On the other hand, if your electrical system fails, a pmag keeps working down to 800 rpm. A magneto just keeps working. John

Default Installed my second pmag last spring

starts like a car, runs leaner than before, engine runs smoother and idles smoother at lower rpm. I think I gained 5kts also. just replaced all 8 spark plugs for $16. I was using 4 ngk8 plugs on one side along with 18 mm autolite 386 plugs on the other side with no issues so have decided to ditch the adapters and use all autolite 386?s.

And so easy to set timing even a caveman can do it.
