Frequency flip / flop

I cannot remember what is required for a frequency flip/flop remote switch. I know you need it to go to ground but do I need a (NO) mom on/ off or a will a (NO) normal on off toggle work.

A momentary switch which it NO is needed. In other words, activating the switch will close it to ground.

Thanks Vic, that is what I was thinking. An ordinary on off switch will not work, must be momentary or you would have to switch it on and then off again and who knows what would happen if it was left in the on position.
