Default ELT Transmits when power turned on

My ACK 406 transmits for 20 seconds each time the master is turned on, then stops. It is not the remote mount. The remote mount does its usual one beep and done. The ELT ON light is not on during the 20 seconds. I have tried toggling with the unit and even broke out the manual, to no avail. Any help? I?ll call them tomorrow, just looking for a Sunday evening fix

Question

I had a similar trouble when I re-used (the instruction said I could) the panel mount box from their 121.5 unit that I had replaced.

I never timed it to see if it went off after 20 seconds though...

Are you using the older 121.5 panel unit?

My mistake, it was a ACK-04 retrofit for the older 121.5 AmeriKing unit I was attempting to do.

Initially ACK claimed the same panel unit could be used, but I now see they have changed that recommendation.

It did set off the unit when plugged in though...

Had the same problem and it wasn?t the ELT. My transponder antenna was too close to ELT and was activating it. I ended up moving the ELT.
