Default RV-12iS ? Powerplant Kit Availability and RV-12/12iS options announced

Van?s is pleased to announce that we are now accepting orders for the RV-12iS Powerplant Kit. Orders placed for this kit will have approximately an eight-week delivery lead time. Between now and July 25th we will give order-list priority to those customers who have already ordered RV-12iS finish kits, to help keep those projects on-track. You may access the order form for the powerplant kit here. Please note that our RV-12iS fuselage kit can accept either the Rotax 912 iS Sport fuel injected engine or the Rotax 912 ULS carbureted engine. However, the 912 iS Sport engine is not compatible with the original RV-12 fuselage kit.

For RV-12iS aircraft equipped with the Rotax 912 iS Sport engine, we now have the option for a second landing light with wig wag synchronization. This kit, which is priced at $345, is available for retrofit or installation during initial construction. Please specify part number ?RV-12 IS LEFT LL KIT? when ordering. Note that this kit is not available for 912 ULS-powered RV-12 airplanes, as the ULS engine?s integral alternator does not supply sufficient electrical capacity to drive the multiple landing lights.

RV-12 and RV-12iS with Rotax 912 ULS Engine ? New Voltage Regulator Option

For Rotax 912 ULS equipped aircraft we have released an optional voltage regulator upgrade kit that uses the new Silent Hektik voltage regulator. This kit is priced at $495 and incorporates both the regulator and a complete installation kit. Installation includes modifications to the upper cowling for a dedicated cooling duct. Please review Notification 18-04-06 for full details and specify part number ?12 REGULATOR KIT? when ordering. Note that a limited number of these optional regulator retrofit kits are presently available, with more on order. If your order cannot be filled immediately, your order will be placed on a delivery schedule on a first-come, first-served basis. The new Silent Hektik voltage regulator will be included as a standard component in all future-shipped 912 ULS powerplant kits.

Original RV-12 ? Canopy Latch Upgrade Option

The new RV-12iS Canopy Latch kit is now available for retrofit onto any RV-12. This kit is priced at $90 and improves the latching action, making the latch easier to open and close. Included in the kit is a new latch handle and a refined canopy catch block that allows the pilot to secure the canopy in a slightly open position during taxi or while the aircraft is left parked on the ramp in order to allow air flow and reduce cockpit temperature. Please specify part number ?12 CANOPY LATCH/HANDLE UPGRADE? when ordering. Note that additional parts may be required depending on your specific application. Please see Notification 17-12-08 for details.

Van's encourages owners and builders to check the Service Information pages for your aircraft model(s) regularly for plans page updates, service bulletins and optional accessories available for your aircraft.
