Default Non RV - COMMS and Intercom connection 2nd airplane project

Having a minor mind meltdown hooking up a PM501 intercom to a Becker AR2401 Comms. I think I understand the connection to the main Mic and Headphone inputs (similar to my -7 hookup) but the PTT has me confused. Even though each mic input (Pilot and copilot) on the intercom has a PTT switch essentially grounding the tip of the mic jack there seems to be only one PTT input connection to the Becker comms, does this mean that when the intercom is ON either position can transmit with their respective PTT?
If I read the PM501 manual correctly, when the intercom is OFF I think the pilot position is the only position directly connected to the Becker comms.
Input appreciated.
