Default Garmin AP Servos -- Center?

Do Garmin AP servos have a "center" that has to be set or do they just more or less work from the position they startup in?

For example, the only comparison I have, in the RC world a servo might have a center and you have to setup the linkage arm appropriately for equal travel in both directions.

Hello Bill,

You are correct that the servos start working from present position when the autopilot is engaged.

Unlike some servos which need to calibrated or "told" the control arm position when the control surfaces are in the neutral position, none of that is required for the GSA 28 servos. There is also less to fail or wear out since the servo does not need or have a potentiometer telling it where the servo arm is positioned.

There is guidance in the installation manual that "the servo push rod should be as close as practical to perpendicular with the servo’s control arm while
positioned at the center of travel", but that is it.

Thanks,
Steve
