Rolls-Royce enters small-turbine market
Designed for the proposed Robinson R66 five-place helicopter, Rolls-Royce has unveiled the RR300 engine designed for small helicopters and aircraft. It can generate from 240 to 300 shaft horsepower. The engine is based on the Model 250 engine that generates from 420 to 715 shp. Rolls-Royce officials expect certification of the RR300 in 2008.
Looks like someone at to start looking at making FF kit for the RR300 ...
but what is the cost for the RR300??
Fuel burn looks at 120 Lb Hr (17 gallons) to 280 Lb Hr (40 gallons) ... basied on the flying RR250 engine.
