Default ELT antennae location

These 406 ELT antennas all seem to be around 22-24” and both ARTEX and ACK install sheet says to mount vertically. I’m trying to get as many things mounted before closing up the top skin on the fuse and was wondering if anyone is mounting these 406 antennae’s in any remote locations like under the empennage fairing like the old 121.5 ELTs? There has to be something better than this gaudy 2 foot whip antenna sitting out there.

Under the bubble canopy to one side with a slight arc bent into the whip. It?s out of the way and vertical.

As Bevan suggested...

In my slider, I punched a small hole in the turtle deck side support and slipped the rubber tip through.. It will easily pop out with a little disturbance.

You will need to notch the flap mechanism cover a little

Ray thanks for the pics. It looks like the whip antenna, which is about 24? is bent to follow the curved support. Thx for the input.
