Default Slider canopy latch question

When closing a slider canopy, the outer handle can collide with the fiberglass surrounding the windshield. This will only happen if the handle is left 180 degrees opposed to the closed position. I'm concerned this could damage the fiberglass. Is there a mechanism to limit the arc of the handle to prevent it rotating full circle?

If you look at the drawings you should find instructions to taper the bottom of the handle for precisely the purpose of not hitting the fiberglass.
