Default RV7 vs RV8 empennage differences

Long story, short. Can 7 emp be reasonably modified for an 8 fuselage? Pardon my ignorance for the very open question but trying to decide on a direction without spending more money than need be. I've heard a lot of contradicting opinions so I'm throwing it there for the VAF masses. Much thanks.

Elevators are the same.
Vertical Stab. is the same.
Rudder is different.
Horizontal stab is different. (it is actually the same except that since the 7 fuselage is wider, the area in the center of it's stab., where it attaches to the fuselage is wider than the one for the 8, so they are not interchangeable)

For a definitive answer, ask the factory.
