Default Drilling engine mount to firewall

Good morning everyone,
Today is the day I drill my engine mount the my firewall and was wondering how others had done it. Did you just clamp them together and drill the 3/4 holes? Or did you step the holes to final size?
Thanks in advance,
Brandon

Good morning,

I drilled initially 0.250" then went from there. Here are two links to the process I went through to get the it on the firewall. I was worried about the fit and alignment but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
