Default Home Depot aviation dept.

I ran into these issues in a couple of places and the only thing hardware store fittings and Aviation fittings have in common is pipe thread. Sooo, I wound up converting Avation flare to pipe thread, I don't remember which fitting does this, but it is an AN- something or other ,then pipe thread to whatever you need, in this instance the brass pipe thread to compression fitting, like the one used on the master brake cylinders.

There are probably other solutions, but this fixed it for me...

Why not just use this?

http://aircraftspruce.com/catalog/ap...liconehose.php

The 1/4" ID stuff is not reinforced as shown in the picture but has a very thick wall. I ran the plastic tubing all the way out the wing to the pitot and used it there, no clamps but a pretty good length (maybe 2-2.5"). I don't see why it wouldn't work in the wing root as well. It was fully approved, if not endorsed, by the pitot-static guy who certified my system.
