Default Duke fuel pump

My wife was doing her transition training in the 6 today and had the duke fuel pump on while they were in the pattern. It would kick itself off after 2 minutes. When they landed I took it up and verified sure enough it would kick the 5 amp breaker switch. This got me to looking on the webs after I realize the label says intermittent duty only. I tried finding amp draw but got nowhere for what the pump is rated at. I'm thinking in the short term I'll rewire and put in a 10 amp breaker, but I will eventually swap out to an airflow performance pump.

I did put my hand on the pump motor and it was fairly warm, but nothing crazy. I suspect the 5 amp breaker just isn't enough. However, no way in heck I'm paying $800-1200 for an overhaul when a new AF pump is sub $400. Anyone else have one of these care to share their experiences?

This is on a pumped up IO-360 angle valve
