1D2 Canton-Plymouth-Mettetal Pirep

I am suppose to fly into 1D2 near Detroit tomorrow mornings for a business meeting. Has Anyone flown in there lately. I tried to contact the FBO all day with no luck. Does anyone have any advice or suggestion or knowledge about this airport.

They do have a noise abatement procedure for both landing and take-off, so you may want to get familiar with it before arrival. Kept my old Cessna there a while about 5 years ago in one of their old dirt floor hangers,,,,yuck! The FBO staff was friendly back then, but its been a while.

Is there a better airport within 20 min drive time. Maybe Oakland southwest?

I'd probably got to Ann Arbor or Willow Run. They'll both give you about a 30 minute commute.

My brother-in-law lives down the street from 1D2. I've driven by it a thousand times, but I've never flown into it. The weather is always bad when we visit and we end up driving.

Depending on where your meeting is, Oakland Southwest may be a longer commute.

If you recall, I used to be a controller at PTK.
