National Naval Aviation Museum and Rivets
We went to the National Naval Aviation Museum this weekend, gotta say it's probably one of the best put together museums I've been to, but that's not why I'm posting this .. sadly, all we did for the first hour was go around looking at rivets on all the airplanes.

That's probably the aircraft builder's equivalent of "not seeing the forest for the trees."
That is one cool museum, isn't it?

I know what you mean.
Back in my days of visiting space contractors, they'd be showing us these incredibly magnificent machines that were headed to space, and I'd be looking at the rivets and welds.....and safety wire!

I had a brief chance to look at the last Shuttle under construction and did the same thing. From what I saw, I thought that the workmanship was excellent.
