Jim Winings has an RV4 with aluminum plates in leiu of FG wing tips with no apparent loss of performance. I plan to use plates on my -4 project. Does anyone know of racers who have optimized the shape relative to the airfoil ? I would plan to emulate the proven formula .

Just curious...if it's not any worse, is it any better?

I think Bob Axsom did quite a bit of work on wingtips, IIRC. You might look up his username and search his posts on here.
