Default Memorial Day

Thanks to Vansairforce CEO for posting today the original text of the order establishing Memorial Day. I did not know it started so long ago. One can learn a lot on this website including history thanks to Doug

As I was reading about the origin of Memorial Day in my front yard with my trusty golden retriever by my side I heard the unmistakeable sound of a formation of T-6's coming in my direction. A six ship formation of T-6's out of Van Nuys airport were making their yearly pass over a nearby cemetery as a tribute to the fallen veterans buried there. They executed a perfect "missing man" pass then departed for the next cemetery. This group of talented pilots repeat this tribute throughout the day over many cemeteries in the Los Angeles area.

My respects and prayers for all who have died serving their country and to their families. May they RIP and honor!
