Default Odd Starter Event

Standard set with Skytech light weight Starter, not sure which model, and PC680. Hartzell CS prop.
Flew a 2.8 hour leg, stopped for fuel. Went to start and could hear the Starter engage but no spin. Hit it again and same. Third time was the charm and the prop spun normally at normal speed and fired right off.
Battery is maybe three or four years old. (Logs at home).
This has never happened before.
I noticed when I shut down the prop stopped at an odd location, not its normal clocking. My theory is it stopped in compression, engine hot, and it just didn't have enough grunt to overcome it.
Curious if anyone has seen this before or if there might be a concern.
Tied down for a few days before I leave back for home and had a minute to throw this out to the group.
