Default Check nut torque?

Is there a standard torque to put on the check nuts in the control system?

I'm not sure I should put 190 in*lb on the -5 check nuts on the aft-most pushrod for the elevator since the rod end bearing is screwed into an aluminum fitting.

How about loctite on these nuts (blue)?

Thanks

Sounds like you're talking about AN316 jam nuts. Look at AN316 columns in the nut torque charts. If you don't have any convenient chart hanging on your wall, you might find info in the Standard Aircraft Handbook or AC43.13.

IIRC it's 80 in-lb, but double check.

My properly torque front stick jam nut has come loose twice in the last 750 hours. Torque: yes. Inspect often: also yes.

Thanks guys. I've been relying on the mechanics reference book - better pull out AC 43 more often.
