Question INFINITY STICK GRIP INSTALLATION

Hello Gents

I know many of us have installed Infinity Stick Grip in their RV and I'm also in the process in doing the same in my RV-4.

Reading the installation info that came with my Infinity Grip , it is mentioned the following..

''Slot the back side of
your tube beginning
from the top (also the
spacer, if you need
one), .4" to .5" wide
x 1.25" long perpendicular
to the upper boss
hole for your wires to
more easily pass down
''

Is this a requirement to pass the wires on the outside of the stick or to simply facilitate their routing down the middle of the stick??

I did not take my grip apart yet so I'm just asking to be sure I don't give myself extra work if not require..

Thanks you for your feedbacks.

P.S: If anyone has pictures of their installation, I will be glad to have a look at them if possible.

Default slot

No the slot will be hidden when the grips are finally installed. There to facilitate as you say.

Just gives better routing for the wires so they don't rub as much on edge of metal.
