Default James Cowl intake ring question

I have just finished casting my intake ring mounts and am thinking about polishing the rings. For those that have done this, are they hard to keep polished like a prop? I had one of them one time and it was a full time job keeping it up. What about polish and clear coat or anodize?
Thanks in advance!

Default Rings

Not sure the alloy of the rings but they hold a polish very well . I'm on the coast of Florida and only machine buff them once a year . They would look good anodized depending on paint / color schemes, but most anodized colors tend to fade ( my experience)
