Default Wax around those pop rivets

When I used paste wax on the RV12 it left white wax rings around all those protruding rivets. I'll admit that months later I still have some showing. Can someone recommend a different approach to waxing these "bumpy" planes.

I recently switched from Collinite paste wax to Rejex for my boat, cars and motorcycles. Goes on like a liquid wax but doesn't leave a wax residue, even on black plastic. Very slick stuff...bugs just hose off my motorcycles and cars.

I always carried toothpicks in my cleaning kit to clean up the rings.

Traditional approach is a small stiff-bristle paintbrush, cut down so the bristles are about 3/4" long.
