Default ACK E-01 ELT battery terminal corrosion

Every year I send my ELT to the avionics shop for inspection and calibration.
Done so for last 8 years, but this time I found some corrosion before sending it out.

Found another ELT to replace, which was actually donated to me. Thanks a bunch Lars.

How many of you have found corrosion on the battery spring terminals for these ACK devices?
They stay sealed until it is time to send them out for testing/certification (Canadian TC rules) on a yearly basis.
I can only think that this is due to defective material or plating. Found no moisture in the case, therefore rubber seal seems to be doing its job.

Very common issue in the older 121.5 ACK ELT.
