A couple of years ago, I complied with Van's Service Bulletin instructing to change old nose gears to new stronger nose gears or to do ongoing inspections for cracks. I changed the nose gear.
I've now notice that there is a slight twist of the nose gear (2 -3%) in the engine mount. I believe this induces a nose wheel shimmy problem. I would like to correct this issue and was thinking about a couple of spot welds on the nose gear at the engine mount. Does anyone else have a suggestion or has encountered this problem? Cheers.
