Default AN5812 Pitot Tube Screw Size?

Does anyone know the right screw size for the standard AN5812 pitot tube attach holes? It seems to be smaller than a #6, but bigger then a #4. M4 doesn't seem to work either?

Does anyone know what it should be?

Thanks,
Scott

I just happen to have an AN 5814-1 sitting in a box, on this computer desk. The instructions for this (14) model, show four 10-32 size screws.

Most pitots use 6-40 (fine thread). I don't know why they picked this very uncommon size. I re-tapped mine to 6-32. Works fine.

Thanks guys. Anyone know a readily available (local) source of 6-40 screws? I think that must be the size of my tube.

Did it not ruin the thread entirely to tap it out to 6-32?

Nope look fine. Still holding in my 6A built 4 years ago too. I did not drill to tap size.

I just went through this problem. I found and ordered the 6-40 screws here:
