Default Antennae location

I am building an RV 7 and have a Comant - Comdat 200 to install to drive my GPS on the Skyview and Comm will be a MGL V6.

I want to locate this antennae just behind the baggage bulkhead and into the Doubler of the rear skin there.

Have any of you done this?

Have any of you used the Comant - Comdat 200 and did you like it?

I have been using RG 400 and have a couple of RG 58 angled ends i would like to put on and it seems they fit but does anyone know if that is a correct install?

Thanks for any and all answers and yes i have looked high and low in the archives so looking for recent knowledge and help. Thanks again.

Dave

Dave,
This is what I did. I made the mount way heavier than I would if I remade it. It needs to be stiff, but that is mostly done behind the firewall with the angle braces. I am not worried about the weight up front since I have a fixed Catto prop and that is light for W&B for a 9A.

I hope it works ok, I am not flying yet.
